When I left my clinical job as a behavioral therapist for children with autism, I was not only leaving some amazing coworkers, but also loving and supportive families. For the time that I worked there, I had the privilege of working closely with families that constantly expressed their gratitude towards me and the company. I can reminder like it was yesterday, during my last session with a family that I grew with for a year, when we said our goodbyes his dad passed me a heartwarming note with a Starbucks gift card. I was on the verge of tears at this point. A simple gift goes a long way.
