A win-win-win

I spent the last Christmas with my sister and her family. Two of the gifts I got for her kids involved DIY projects.  One was a snow globe that we made from a mason jar and supplies from Michael's craft store (Martha Stewart has a good tutorial here http://www.marthastewart.com/276346/how-to-make-a-snow-globe).  The other was a DIY double-sided Christmas throw (like this "No-Sew Fleece Throw" from Jo-Ann Fabrics http://www.joann.com/no-sew-fleece-throw/P408253.html).

The gifts were special to me because they both involved activities I could do with her kids, and they were meaningful to my sister because they kept the kids occupied for quite some time and gave her some time to herself.  Finally, the gifts were meaningful to the kids because they felt a sense of accomplishment and were proud of what they made. A win-win-win!

This would be a great gift for my nephews anytime of the year! I have a feeling they will be more inclined to have dinosaur or car figurines instead haha! How old were your nieces and/or nephews? Thanks for sharing :)
