Mother + Son Adventure Day

I'm the youngest child in my family, with two older sisters who are identical twins.

Growing up, there were a number of years where I spent tons of 1:1 time with my mom.

*Fast forward to adult life*

I don't live in the same state as my family.

Oftentimes, when I do spend time with family, it's in a group setting. Not much time for deep, 1:1 connections.

So for this mother's day, I gave my mom the gift of a mother+son adventure day.

When I travel home in a couple weeks, we'll spend an entire day together, doing different activities around the city that we both love to do: visiting a new coffee shop, walking around a local lake, painting and making art together, eating some good food, and using our cultural eyes at a local museum.

The best part about this gift is that I'm equally excited for it! I think it's going to be a really fun day! :)

This is so sweet!

Right! Completely agree. This reminds me of what I did for my mom this Mother's Day, too. I took her to the zoo and then to a rooftop bar overlooking Lake Michigan. Echoing the story, it was a gift that we were both definitely looking forward to!
