My soon to be husband is a minimalist. Meaning, he doesn't own or need much and is happy with the simplest of things. Getting him a gift that resonates with his core is pretty impossible, or requires an extreme amount of digging (aka snooping) through his browser history or social media feed. But that isn't where I discovered the object of his affection. It was when I noticed he was using the Twenty20 photo app and I saw him posting these beautiful images I didn't even know he was shooting. That's when it clicked, "I should get him a hard copy of his work!" So for Valentines Day, I printed one of his favorite images on metal sheet to place wherever he wants. He had never seen his work in hard copy form. Though this is a gift you can get someone all year round, I knew that it'll have more meaning on the day of Love. He's usually showering me with thoughtful presents throughout the year, big or small, so I wanted him to know that this day can be about the man too. No chocolate hearts or cards, instead something that resonates with his passion and brings to light his own talents.
